Nanaimo

Nanaimo is a growing community with a current population of just over 100,000. Known as the "Harbour City," it sprawls along one of the longest shorelines in Canada. With more than 430 hectares of parkland, the decision of where to go for an evening stroll or an afternoon hike or bike ride is almost limitless. There are numerous picturesque waterfalls, a gorgeous mountain lake at the foot of Mount Benson, innumerable forest and mountain trails, and, of course, an abundance of oceanfront parks waiting to be discovered by you. The central location on Vancouver Island provides easy access to all the wonderful destinations Vancouver Island has to offer. Moreover, it is easy to travel to Nanaimo or return to the mainland using a varied choice of transportation. The city boasts two ferry terminals, floatplanes, helijets, as well as an airport.
